During the past decades, the meat industry had received had been subjected to public scrutiny as many diets that have been created and were publicized condemned the consumption of red meat. But does this dilemma really have medical basis or people are just trying to bring them down?
The Red Meat Dilemma has been in our society for quite a long time and we cannot blame them, many medical findings give more and more evidence to show that this can actually kill us. Though we are all carnivores and this is our human nature, we still have to be aware of this dilemma that is if we really care about ourselves and our loved ones.
To give you a concrete example, according to recent medical studies today, there is a probable association between red meat and colon cancer that is why more and more doctors are informing their patients especially those vulnerable to this cancer to reduce this in their diet. These doctors believe that there are other healthy options for these people.
People can just opt for fish and chicken or turkey (skinless) as sources of protein instead of red meat. Regardless if the meat is salted, processed, or cured, as long as it is red meat and not chicken or fish, it is believed to give you more chances of developing colon cancer. Most medical practitioners believe that consuming this increases your risk to cancers by 28% while processed meat can increase your risk by 20%. So if you are really serious of your diet, you will consider this red meat dilemma before it is too late.
