One of the most commonly planned New Year resolutions has got to be kicking off old habits and inviting a healthier lifestyle into our life. However even the best laid plans can sometimes be difficult to follow due to our hectic lifestyle, and attempting to switch to a healthier one is even harder when we have to give up certain old habits.

What should you do then? Obviously, the first thing you shouldn’t do is to give up and wait for another year to attempt, because you have the freedom of choice and you should utilize your right, therefore make a choice to live healthier and develop a plan or strategy that you can use.

Here are some tips you can use to gain some momentum and jumpstart your newer lifestyle.

Actively manage your stress

Stress is an everyday part of our life, and thus learning to handle them effectively and actively can help you live better as well as being healthier and happier, instead of letting them take control, you have got to actively manage them. One very easy yet often overlooked ways to control your stress is to simply stop and take a deep breath in everytime you feel you’re losing control.

Before you can actively manage them the first step is to know that you’re still in control, by taking a short break from the situation lets you gain back the control you needed to deal with it, after you’ve done that simply start to break down into manageable chunk of information where you can deal with individually and in a step by step manner.
