Until the new millennium obesity was typically an adult problem, now regrettably obesity is widespread amongst children and adolescents throughout the world. Each and every year the numbers of new cases being reported are increasing, giving rise to a new health fear.

The term obesity refers to an excess amount of body fat. However the guidelines for measuring obesity in children are difficult since no real tables exist. On average a child’s bodyweight 20% higher than the average for his height is considered obese.

Obesity in a child can cause serious health problems, both physically and emotionally. Unfortunately modern living is the main culprit here, an unhealthy diet and lack of exercise contributes to this growing obesity epidemic.

The good news however is that we can control this and help reverse the trend. By guiding our children towards a healthier and more nutritious diet plus introducing an enjoyable exercise program.

Once a child’s weight increases above their friends they can become concerned about their appearance and have trouble forming friendships at school. This is when parents must be highly supportive; never criticize your child’s weight. Encouragement and unconditional love is the best rule for parents to follow.

The first steps to take are for parents to accept that their lifestyle may be partly responsible. Children will follow an adult’s example, so before asking of your child to change, you must take the lead. The families eating habits is the best place to start.

Eat all meals at the table; try to stop your children snacking in front of the TV. Introduce new foods one at a time; do not ban all ‘fast food’ restaurants. An occasional outing for ‘junk food’ will do them or you no harm.

Apart from dietary changes, the biggest alteration to their lifestyle will be tearing them away from the TV, computer & video games to a new exercise regime. Now this does not have to be as hard as that sounds. Allow the internet, TV and anything else for a total of one hour a day.

Unfortunately the old-style physical education is hard to find at school these days. This puts the emphasis on the parents to discover, by talking with their child, what kind of sports they would like to participate in. Summer evenings and at weekends is a good time for the whole family to get out and about. Visit the parks or just jog around the neighborhood.

Results will take time; aim to reduce weight by just two pounds a month. Gradually the whole family will benefit from the introduction of a healthier lifestyle.

There are many people in the world who are struggling with obesity. Obesity is a serious health problem and the causes of obesity can be linked to a number of different factors. In this article we will talk about obesity causes & obesity solutions in order to live a healthier lifestyle.

Lack of exercise

Obesity causes can be triggered also by lack of exercise. There are a lot of people today who have developed a couch potato lifestyle. And, it is extremely important to stay healthy. Be active, be sure to get regular aerobic exercise and include in your routine to go for a brisk walk, bicycling, jogging, swimming highly recommended specially for people who are obese or overweight, just do anything to get your heart pumping but do it the right way specially with the advise of a health professional. When the goal is to lose weight the main thing is to burn your daily amount of calories plus some that are stored in your fat body. It is also advisable to do some strength or endurance training this will help you burn fat for hours past your actual exercise session. Not only will these solutions keep you either fit and firm or help you lose weight, but it will make you feel much healthier.

Poor nutrition / or eating habits

Poor nutrition and diet is one of the major obesity causes. A lot of people nowadays eat meals (food ) that are just horrible and have no nutritional value at all. We don’t have to punish or starve ourselves to stay slim and fit. The truth is, starving yourself is unhealthy for you at all. Enhancing our metabolism is the most powerful way to burn fat. To speed up our metabolism, we just need to maintain a constant flow of abundant nutrients to the cells in our body. We can do this by eating 4 to 6 smaller meals daily rather than sticking ourselves on three meals a day. We have to get rid of fast food and excess calories and sugar from our diet and replace it with fruits, vegetables and supplemental fiber. These various obesity solutions I’ve highly recommended can and will make a big difference in our life.

Excess Toxins

Excess toxins stored in the cells of our body particularly in the intestines and liver is another major causes of obesity. These toxins get stored in our fat cells and make them gather all kinds of waste crap. To be hydrated is one of the most basic solutions to obesity. Drinking water helps to clean our systems specially the internal organ. It is advisable to drink at least 4 to 6 liters of clean or distilled water everyday much better if you can add some trace minerals on it. In addition, supplemental fibers are a great way to detoxify our internal organs. Eliminating these toxins in our body makes it possible to shed off some of the unwanted fat on our bodies.

The obesity causes & obesity solutions that we discuss are so simple. We can have the bodies we dream and desire if we are determine to change our habit as well as our lifestyles.

Obesity has many negative health consequences. Some are better known and documented than others. Recent studies have shown that yet another potential consequence of obesity is difficulty when it comes to conceiving a baby. Fertility troubles are a growing problem in this country and around the world. One reason that is being hailed as a very viable culprit is obesity. While most people look immediately to the female in the relationship for this particular problem the facts indicate that male obesity can also lead to a low sperm count, which can also hamper fertility efforts and progress. Our bodies were designed for specific purposes.

It is utterly amazing how well each part of the human body works to support the others. There are very few machines that can compete with the genius of the design of the human body. After thousands of years to study the human body there are still many mysteries hidden within. The truth comes down to this however, we put things into our bodies, and abuse our bodies in ways that our bodies were simply not designed to take and yet we still manage to adapt and survive many of these things. It’s amazing when you think about that the human body endures the many things it does without permanent and irrevocable damage. The good news for those attempting to conceive is that the human body also has the remarkable ability to heal itself.

This means that those who find their efforts to conceive have been hampered by obesity have also seen positive changes by losing as little as five to ten percent of your ability to conceive. If both partners are overweight then it might be a good idea to work together to shed those unwanted pounds and adopt a healthier, more active lifestyle. Being active when trying to conceive and throughout the pregnancy is a good idea for the female in the relationship at any rate as this can help in the process of labor and delivery.

If you are trying to conceive without success and have been doing so for more than a year it is probably in your best interest to seek the services of a fertility specialist in order to rule out other possible considerations. Though it is rarely a bad idea to adopt a healthier lifestyle you should also consult your doctor before beginning a strict diet or weight loss regimen in order to make sure there aren’t other factors that may be causing your weight issues. This is particularly true if you have gained a good deal of weight in a rather short amount of time. In addition to conception difficulty obesity can also lead to a greater risk of miscarriage once conception has occurred. Obesity also leads to a greater risk of conditions such as gestational diabetes during the pregnancy, pre-eclampsia, and in some cases still birth and birth defects. It is no small hindrance to a healthy pregnancy and should be carefully considered before attempting to conceive.

Another consideration when it comes to obesity and fertility is that being overweight can also hamper the affects of fertility treatments. This means that the process is typically lengthier and will cost significantly more over time than if obesity were not a factor. When coupled with the risks to the baby this is something that should not be taken lightly when making plans for fertility treatments. If your BMI is greater than 30 there are many fertility clinics that simply will not offer their services. Some limit it to greater than 35 and others 40. If you feel that fertility treatments are the only course of action available to you and your BMI is greater than 30, the first suggestion you are likely to hear is the suggestion that you make serious weight loss efforts and lifestyle changes before proceeding. You may find that once you begin to shed the pounds, fertility intervention is no longer necessary.
